The 2.1 firmware release of the iphone 3g will NOT provide ANY patches - fixes - or relief for Microsoft Exchange - Microsoft Small Business - Microsoft Windows 2003 Standard or Windows 2003 Enterprise users. 

You see there is very little relief Microsoft and Apple can provide.   Each exchange configuration is unique and requires a different fix. 

Don’t expect purchasing a certificate or even installing a SLL certificate on the phone to do more than just wasting money and time.  Goddady must be making a killing over all of these iphone “certificate” fears.  Godaddy is a great local company.  However, save yourself some time and money.  Don’t purchase the certificate, because it will not fix your iphone sync issue.

• Outlook(R) Mobile Access is supported only on Microsoft(R) Exchange Server 2003. Currently your mailbox is stored on an older version of Exchange server. Please contact your system administrator for additional assistance. - Resolved!!
