Wouldn’t you want these “guys” representing you?  I would say they are just like you, ensuring your systems are up and running and you hire a reputable company to resolve your issues.  What better than a testimony from Millard Law office after we solved their IPHONE 3G – Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync issue:

After 3 days (and a lot of lost work and after work time) I stumbled across this company who promises to fix the syncing issue or you don’t pay him. The charge is a flat $175 but only if they fix the problem. I am an attorney so the 25 hours of lost work time was quite a loss. If you are in a business or value your time – check him out. Some recent iPhone issues solved

Exchange Calendar Not Syncing To IPhone 3G 2.1

email and contacts are working fine. calendar events entered on the iphone show up on the exchange, but events entered on exchange (through owa or outlook) do not appear on the iphone

Unable to access mail

email access is denied because the user name or password are incorrect. I’ve posted this question earlier, but responses did not apply. I’ve tried changing the password, but that doesn’t work either. Is there a way to retrieve a password if I’m using the wrong one?

Iphone 3G active sync with Exchange 2003

I just purchased a new 3G two weeks ago. I entered my two pop email accounts and my one yahoo account. They will work fine for about 2 or 3 days. Then they will not connect. The little connecting wheel just spins indefinitely. All three accounts always stop at the same time. In order to correct it, I haveto delete all three accounts and reset the network settings. Then they work fine….for another 2 or 3 days. I cannot sync my phone with our Exchange 2003 server. I am able to set up the account and receive verification on the account. As I attempt to sync, I receive the message “connection to the server failed.” I have valid certificates from verisign on the server and I assume the iphone came with similar certificates. I can receive emails via an imap account, however, I want to be able to utilize the features of Exchange. We also have an Ironport (antispam, etc.) system on the network and I am not sure if this has something to do with it. I have seen a number of similiar questions, but could not see where anyone else had been successful in resolving. Please assist if possible.

Iphone 3g – Exchange 2003 Activesync Frustrations

I have a new iphone. I’m trying to connect it to an Microsoft Small Business Server 2003. It will not connect. I get the same errors as other with the “configured sync for null”.

iphone & microsoft exchange access without port 443

I am trying to setup my microsoft exchange server. My company does not use port 443 for microsoft emails. We use a different port. Has anyone setup their outlook on a different port? Did it work? and please provide me steps to try to get mine setup.

The Iphone No statements:

  • Many Iphone Blog posts on the Apple Support site suggest the problem is with the certificate, answer is NO.
  • Many suggest Windows 2003 Exchange Server does not support IPHONE / Iphone 3G, again, the answer is NO.
  • Many suggest loading a SSL certificate on the IPHONE 3G, again, answer is no
  • More suggest upgrading to the latest IPHONE firmware from Apple’s site, again nope
  • Several suggest purchasing a Godaddy SSL certificate, NOPE — Just a waste of more money.
  • Finally, suggestions of resetting the IPHONE to factory defaults, again nope.
  • Forget purchasing an Expert Exchange account – even though there are hundreds of people reading the site, few can even figure out every scenario.

The Iphone YES statements:

  • Your Microsoft 2003 Exchange Server requires Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2
  • Sonice / Cisco Router needs to forward Port 443 (SSL) to your Microsoft Exchange Server
  • OMA needs to work
  • Microsoft-Exchange-Server-ActiveSync needs to work
  • IIS Exchange needs to work

iPhone Setup Suggestions to avoid

  1. Outlook Anywhere - RPC/HTTP : You will view this suggestion all the time on google.  Great way to connect your Outlook 2007/2003 clients to your server, but has nothing to do with ActiveSync.
  2. IMAP Port 143, 993. Old school.  You want Activesync working.  These ports are not necessary for Activesync.  Activesync works over TCP port 443
  3. Goddady, Verisign, etc. Certificate. A simple unsigned and unverified certificate is fine.  Save yourself some time, money, and frustration.  Go with a simple certificate.  If you want a valid certificate, opt for the Godaddy $13.00 special.  Google:   “Godaddy SSL”  you will see a Godaddy adword at the top advertising a $13.00 certificate.
  4. Install the certificate on the iPhone. This will make the situation worse.  Don’t do it.
  5. Exchange 2003 Does not Support iPhone. Nice try!  But the iPhone 2.0, 2.2, 3.0, 3.1 works perfectly with Microsoft Exchange  2003 Server.

Why is it so difficult to setup a new iPhone 3.1 to your existing Microsoft Exchange 2003 / 2007 server?

Great question!  A majority of these Exchange 2003 systems have been in place for many years.  Various applications have been loaded – different IT solution providers / Admins have made adjustments, and Microsoft patches were probably never kept up to date.

  • There are many obstacles to avoid when trying to figure out why your Exchange server won’t sync your iPhone 3.1 phone via activesync.

TechnoKOZ is all about SAVING you time and FRUSTRATION.

We agree with you trying to fix this Exchange sync issue by yourself, but is it REALLY worth your time?  We have been providing Quality iPhone Exchange Setup repair since July 2008.  We have saved thousands of IT Admins, business owners, and end users countless hours of their precious time with our FLAT RATE ($175.00) Exchange Setup process.

Google Answers gone wrong!

Here is a sample of the junk on google right now for this iPhone Exchange Setup problem:

  1. Reset the IIS Admin password for the Default Web site. :    Would you like about 2 hours of a repair headache getting your OWA back to working condition? Yes, this suggestion is a REAL show stopper. Avoid it at all cost
  2. Change the Server’s Domain name to match certificate name. This idea creates major METABASE security corruption.  Not sure of the intentions.  Any event, it will create LONGTERM headaches for your organization.
  3. Change the Server’s Computer name. Just like idea number 2.  More trouble.

Exchange 2003 Email Syncs for a while then stops

So my iphone 3G (2.1) will synch my email from the company exchange server just fine for a day or two then for no reason (that I can tell) stops. It goes into an endless connecting to server state and never gets past it. If I fully restore the phone, wiping the account clean, starting over it will validate the account, start synching mail, work for a while (a day or just a few hours) and then stop. I have the phone set for manual fetch. Any ideas?

3.0 Iphone 3gs – Exchange 2003 Activesync Frustrations

I have a new iphone. I’m trying to connect it to an Microsoft Small Business Server 2003. It will not connect. I get the same errors as other with the “configured sync for null”.

iphone & microsoft server exchange access without port 443

I am trying to setup my Microsoft exchange server. My company does not use port 443 for Microsoft emails. We use a different port. Has anyone setup their outlook on a different port? Did it work? and please provide me steps to try to get mine setup.

The new versions, 3.1 for the iPhone are fairly minor upgrades which on the surface seem to add compatibility features with the newly introduced iTunes 9.  The software update feature in iTunes that becomes available once you plug in your device.

Two major improvements in iPhone 3.1 OS update are:

  1. Improved Exchange calendar syncing and invitation handling:  Fixes an issue where accepting an invitation on Outlook after it was pushed to the iPhone caused it to disappear from the iPhone’s calendar.
  2. Wifi improvements:  There were many reported issues on many blog sites hinting on major issues with WIFI connectivity.  Visitors to our site as well as iPhone exchange sync customers are reporting that Wifi seems to be fixed in 3.1

Other iPhone 3.1 improvements:

  • Improved syncing for music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and photos
  • iTunes U content organization
  • Save video from Mail and MMS into Camera Roll
  • Option to “Save as new clip” when trimming a video on iPhone 3GS
  • Better iPhone 3G Wi-Fi performance
  • Remotely lock iPhone with a passcode via MobileMe
  • Use Voice Control on iPhone 3GS with Bluetooth headsets
  • Paste phone numbers into the keypad
  • Option to use Home button to turn on accessibility features on iPhone 3GS
  • Antiphishing Warnings for fraudulent websites in Safari
  •  Fixes issue that cause some app icons to display incorrectly
  • iPhone 3.1 OS Update Major Gotcha!

iPhone OS 3.1 Breaks MS Exchange on Older iPhones.  Apple screwed up somewhere down the line with the original iPhone 2.0 & 3G Exchange ActiveSync.  These devices did not support hardware encryption.  With the new iPhone 3.1 OS, Apple now supports Exchange 2007 server option “Require Encryption on the Device”.   If this option is select on the Exchange 2007 server, your older iPhone will not connect to the Exchange 2007 server, without this option being turned off.

Apple posted an official note :   Policy Requirement
The account “______________” requires encryption which is not supported on this iPhone

If you are running Exchange 2003, this policy requirement is not available.  However, if your organization uses Exchange 2007, you might want to concider upgrading to an iPhone 3GS phone.

Solution for the unable to move message the message could not be moved to mailbox trash message

Don’t let Apple fool you with this error message.   When Apple Support says there is no solution, immediately contact TechnoKOZ (480-440-4650).   By the way, we do not charge for questions!

Direct Words from Derek Goodyer from Australia

All the others failed – Robert from Techno Koz fixed it in about 10 minutes!!! Background follows:

Bought an iPhone 32gs last Thursday and was less than impressed when, after more than hour, I had to leave the Apple store without a connection to my Exchange Server (SBS 2003) – i.e. they could not sort it out for me at the point of sale. Called Apple care who put me on to a very helpful guy in the US who sent me lots of links and about three weeks worth of highly technical reading. Called the guys who set up my server who made a few suggestions that did not work and the other techs I called did not call back.

I found Robert & Thechno Koz on the web via Google – called via Skype and got him (after midnight US time) and got a very friendly, polite & knowledgeable response + appointment to review the issue at 8am Saturday Sydney time. Problem resolved in about 10 minutes via remote log-in to server.

Highly recommended based on my experience!!

Trying to set up iPhone with Exchange Server?

We receive many iPhone setup calls each week where the customer states “I’m trying to get my work email on this phone, I don’t know if I should be going through Microsoft Exchange or a different way. Typically I am not totally clueless about what my exchange settings should be. I’ve tried going into the “add new account” and adding, Microsoft Exchange and I’ve also tried adding a POP and IMAP account, which I was unsuccessful in doing. I’ve also tried syncing with iTunes… I got my contacts, calendars, etc., but no such luck with email. I’m thinking that maybe I am not typing the correct things, or maybe that it just isn’t possible to do this on iPhone in general.

    iPhone-3G-S

The iPhone Exchange Setup issues are different for each company that contacts our iPhone Setup Support line, but the THEME is the same.

Battle the iPhone Setup process for weeks with no solution.

These Exchange and iPhone users are persistent in their efforts to find a solution at ALL COST.

    1. Contact Apple Technical Support - Receive a polite well trained counselor who puts you on hold for 5 minutes — (Suggesting that they are referring your problem to senior engineers) then directs you to a web page to read a PDF installation document that informs you of steps already known. Then when you call back (all frustrated), they suggest that you should pay Apple Genius Support $300.00 for a senior technical engineer to tell you that your iPhone sync issue is a Microsoft Exchange problem. Nice try Apple Sauce.

    2. Search Google – 1,000+ Posts. Reading through many sites who just “republish” technical information from other sites to make the appearance that their site is legitimate. YET, the intention of the site is to sell you more BLING BLING for your new iphone. We did our own searching recently and we were chuckling over the fact that 98% of the post would not even get you close to a solution. Remember to backup your system before trying some of these posts. We have seen some very questionable suggestions that might create you a Bigger mess then you were bargaining for.

    3. Phone a Friend – Contact all of your friends – technicians in your circle. You will be amazed on the suggestions. Some will suggest going to 2007, because 2003 does not support iPhone 3.0 activesync (WRONG). Some will suggest getting a legitimate certificate from Verisign or godaddy (WRONG AGAIN). Most will say the process is very easy and it is currently working on three other servers, but does not know why your server is not working.

Lets face it NONE of these corporate giants and cell phone providers (Apple / AT&T / Rogers / O2 / Vodafone / want your iPhone and Exchange working. Otherwise, they would have provided you some simple instructions to follow. TechnoKOZ is here to fulfill this technical VOID.

Don’t be fooled by inferior iPhone Exchange Setup help

Most people contacting our support center are receiving the “connection to server failed message” on their new iPhone 3Gs phone for our FLAT RATE FEE of $175.00.

OK, If you have been reading all of these Apple iPhone 3Gs: Exchange account verification failed “blog” posts on the Internet, there are Techs who are trying to convince you that their iPhone Setup solution is “BEST”.

Well, here are some of the more common iPhone Exchange Setup Blog post “misconceptions” you should avoid.

    1. You do not need to purchase a certificate from Verisign, Godaddy, etc. A simple self signed certificate will work.
    2. DO NOT waste your time installing certificates on the 3G iphone. Again, I am not sure why people continue to instruct you to head this way.
    3. Forget about RPC-HTTP. This has nothing to do with iPhone Activesync. We do think RPC-HTTP is a great connectivity tool for Outlook desktop client. But, having RPC working will not improve your OMA/ActiveSync for the iPhone 3G.
    4. Do not change the server’s computer name!!! (Stange that someone would, but we have seen this two times now.)
    5. Do not reset the anonymous password for the default web site!! (We have seen this 3 times now.)
    5. These errors are confusing. Just make sure you have Service Pack 2 for exchange. This will solve 90 percent of your issues. If you want a guided setup tour. Check out our TechnoKOZ iPhone Setup Cook Book.

If in doubt, don’t follow the google suggestion. You will find out that your OWA (Outlook Web Access page will stop working, or worse people lose connectivity to your Microsoft Exchange 2003 / 2007 server)
