- IMAP Port 143, 993 open on firewall. [FALSE] Old school. You want Activesync working. These ports are not necessary for Activesync. Activesync works over TCP port 443 [you only need one port open on the firewall]

Getting your iPad to work
with Exchange Active Sync
SSL Certificate
Getting your Ipad to work with Exchange Active Sync SSL Certificate has been an issue for many iPad and iPhone users. Yet, purchasing a certificate for the iPhone or iPad does not improve your active sync chances. If you don’t have to, don’t purchase an exchange certificate such as Godaddy, Verisign, and Comodo.
Now KOZ has you thinking! Yes, it is true. For all intensive purposes there is no need to purchase a certificate for iPhone / iPad for Exchange 2003, 2007 or 2010 server. All of these server will work just fine with a SELF SIGNED certificate.
