While reading all of these blogs out here, TechnoKOZ is sure you have read some wrong answers for solving your iPhone 3G activeSync – Exchange issue.

We would like to bring some of them to your attention now:

1. You have to install the SSL Certificate directly on the iPhone. You will read about these posts where the user emails the Certificate to the phone and all of their problems are fixed. Well, we have been solving these Exchange – Iphone issues since July and at no point did we ever have to install a certificate on the phone to resolve the sync issue. First of all it creates a challenge for you to install one on the phone and secondly, we have seen it where it has prevented the phone from syncing to your 2003/2007 Exchange server.

2. You have to have RPC/HTTP working on your Windows 2003/Windows 2007 Exchange server for the oma / activesync process to work properly. This will establish Outlook Anywhere to work with your Windows XP Outlook, but not the iPhone.

3. Self Signed Certificate will not work. Again, you can save money and time by just using a simple self signed certifcate, instead of making versign and godaddy rich. The iPhone is not like your typical Windows mobile 6/7 device. It does not care if the certificate is valid.

As you can see we are the Exchange ActiveSync experts. We will get your iPhone or Windows Mobile Device sync”ing” to your Exchange 2003/2007 server.

Give us a call today: 480-440-4650 // Skype: TECHNOKOZ

Yes the World, you have been duped again. Apple Executives are sitting on the solution to all of your Windows 2003 and ActiveSync solutions, but they are unwilling to listen. Remeber you are just a pond of ducks. We have the story…

It appears their own marketing scheme is starting to backfire. They continue their own crusade claiming there is a lack of interest from Corporate America regarding this iPhone and Exchange activesync issues.

Current options:

Apple Technical Support = a polite tech who will just point you to a web document with no solution.

Expert Exchange blog posting boards = 3,000 techs but no real world experience solving these issues microsoft exchange and iphone issues — Most want you to install a certificate on the iphone?????

Google, your only viable solution, but there again, you are risking your entire day and integretity on a Internet post that will probably create a bigger mess for you to solve. — The general solution theme continues to be — buy a Godaddy certificate to solve your iPhone Sync issue — NOT!!!!! Don’t do it. – You don’t need a REAL SSL cert to solve your OMA/ActiveSync issue

Yes America, it is a dawn of a new day! I agree technology is great. However, wouldn’t it be better if your iPhone was actually syncing right now to your Exchange Server? Why continue to look for a solution only to find dead-ends? We Guarantee that your iPhone will be receiving / connecting to your Microsoft Exchange Server within a short technical support call with us [480-440-4650]– for only $175.00 Flat RATE!

You see, we have solved iPhone 3G - Exchange sync issues for another stellar company. Stelera Wireless to be exact, a leader in deploying broadband services to rural markets throughout the United States. Stelera Wireless is committed to providing our customers with the latest and most robust technology to provide the fastest data speeds available.

Why did Stelera seek our technical expertise? Simple, they were tired of searching for a solution. Ed, CEO, of Stelera is a savvy owner and Co-founder. He knows it makes sense to leave the technical issues to the pros and is why he contacted our repair company to solve his iPhone issue. America is built on trust and Ed knew we would fix his issues rapidly, so his IT Department could focus on projects, not Sync issues.

I hope you can see the light at the end of the tunnel too. Make the call and you will not regret it, because we will provide top-notch results and fix your sync issues today! 480-440-4650

This customer has a Windows 2003 Small Business server with Exchange Service Pack 2.

We recently inquired with Apple’s technical group, regarding connection issues with the iPhone 3G to a Microsoft Exchange server. The default Exchange option ”Exchange” from the main setup screen is no longer using IMAP to communicate to an Exchange Server. Apple is now using Microsoft Exchange OMA (Active Sync). Ok, this is improved technology, integration, security etc. for Apple iPhone. However, if you have a corrupted SSL certificate on your Exchange server, or have no installed Certificate, you will not be able to access your Exchange server through ActiveSync. Even though there is an option to turn off encryption, this setting, Non-encryption is not supported. So, if you need to run your iPhone 3g without certificates, you will need to use the old IMAP route, selecting other during the configuration process.

Otherwise, you will have to invest some time and technology to configure a certificate on you Exchange server and open up 443, for OMA ActiveSync.

There is a prerequisite document on the Apple web site, which also instructs the network admin to open Port 443 on the edge firewall. So, it appears Apple want to keep everything secure? No support for non ssl OMA connections?

Here are some steps to test your OMA configuration of your Exchange server.

From the outside of your network, from home, use IE (Internet explorer) and open the following:

https://mail.domainserver.com/OMA

You will have to use the dns name of your exchangeserver. (in my example, I used mail.domainserver.com — please substitute your domain information into this field.)

You might receive a certificate error, if so, please continue.

You will be prompted for your user id and password, please input your exchange server user id and password.

If everything worked, you should receive a screen with the following information: The device type you are using is not supported. Press Ok to continue.Ok
Ok, and do not warn me again

User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1) ; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.648; Windows-Media-Player/10.00.00.3990; .NET CLR 3.5.21022)

Apple’s iPhone 3G does not support non-SSL connections to a Microsoft Exchange Server

During the Microsoft Exchange email account configuration process, on the iPhone, the default connection type is SSL connection. After saving the setting, you can manually modify the connect to a non-SSL connection. Although this option is available, it definitely is flawed with a major bug. Reason, we proved non-SSL (Port 80) connections function flawlessly on a Mac Pro and XP Pro PC, but not through the iPhone 3G OMA.

One last note: I always found that you can now change the email signature (within settings) so that it doesn’t reveal to your corporate group that you just sent an email from your iPhone/Touch, which I think some may find a good feature

It appears there are a lot of you experiencing a LOT OF PAIN connecting your iPhone 3G to your Microsoft Exchange server. Allow us to assist you in this endeavor. We are a professional company who can save you a lot of time and frustration.
